Phillips 66® Shield Defense Synthetic Blend Motor Oil is a premium part-synthetic engine oil designed to protect turbocharged gasoline direct-injection, conventional gasoline-fueled, and flex-fueled passenger cars and light trucks in any operating condition. It is also ideal for lower-mileage vehicles, including new cars under warranty.
Formulated with a blend of synthetic and conventional base stocks, Shield Defense Synthetic Blend Motor Oil offers superior protection against viscosity breakdown, sludge, and varnish compared to conventional engine oils. With its proprietary High Mileage formulation, this oil boosts engine protection, maximizing performance and extending engine life in high-mileage vehicles while ensuring excellent protection for newer models.
Shield Defense Synthetic Blend Motor Oil meets ILSAC GF-7A standards for new car warranties and helps prevent low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) in turbocharged gasoline direct-injection engines. It meets or exceeds "Resource Conserving" requirements by improving fuel economy, protecting emission systems and turbochargers, and supporting engines running on ethanol blends up to E85.
It is backward-compatible with API SN and earlier "S" category engine oils.
